Abstract

This chapter explores thirteen cases of the evaluation of the social impacts of arts projects and programmes, which have been published in acknowledged research journals. In our inventory, we point out some major developments and experiences in the field and discuss existing evaluation practices. In the concluding section, we propose solutions for further developing evaluations of social impacts in the arts and cultural sectors – such as establishing reasonable budgets and sharing skills and knowledge between the arts and evaluation communities.
