Working Experience

I am entrepreneur, consultant, researcher and university teacher, and work together with various partners from arts, nonprofit, small businesses and education.

In 2021, I founded SparksNet GmbH, Kreuzlingen, Switzerland. SparksNet is a think tank dedicated to the preservation and promotion of a good coexistence in our society. Current fields of engagement are the cultural and creative sectors, and philanthropy.

In 2011 and 2016 I served as an expert for the Swiss Federal Office of Culture.

From 2002 to 2020 I worked at the ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences. There I contributed in setting up the Center for Arts Management, was director of the Master of Advanced Studies in Arts Management, was deputy head, and responsible for the module “Managing Nonprofit Organizations” in the Master of  Business Administration. I acquired and managed numerous research and consultancy projects, presented my work at conferences and published them in internationally acknowledged journals.

During 1998 to 2002 I worked as a consultant and project manager in a company for information technologies and information management (IMAC), and in an institute for innovative learning (Impuls GmbH).

Education

Dissertation

While working, I wrote my dissertation at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Economics and Business Administration at the University of Friborg, Switzerland. My advisor was Professor Markus Gmür, head of the vmi. My topic was "Governance and Professionalization in Fundraising Management - The Cases of Swiss Museums and of Swiss Charities." I graduated with "summa com laude" (highest mark).

University Studies

I graduated from the University of Constance with a Master of Arts in Politics and Public Administration with a major in international relations. My thesis topic was "Global Governance and the Role of International Organizations - the Case of the International Labor Organization (IAO)." The thesis was rated "very good" (highest mark). During university studies I spent one semester as a guest student at the Faculty of Political Science at the Free University of Berlin.
