Description

What can every-day arts management practice learn from the sociological theories of cultural production and organization?

The sociology of cultural production and organizations has always been one of my major interests, which I am now teaching at the University of Lüneburg in the Master's degree of Arts and Cultural Management (Master of advanced Studies). The Masters Programme is run by the Professional School and the Goethe-Institute.

Course Content:

  • Sociology of the Arts: arts field, systems and organizations

  • Art Organizations: organizational theory and analysis

  • Production of Culture: the production of cultural goods, value chains and constraints.

  • Cultural Ecologies: preservation, citizenship and network connectivity in the creative economy

The students come from all over the world and the discussions in this fully virtual online module are highly exciting and enriching.
